From the Chief’s Desk

Here’s a picture showing myself, CSRD Fire Services Coordinator Kenn Mount and Joan Sholinder from Lakeside Insurance who donated to us $500.00 towards the purchase of smoke alarms for us to distribute. Posters were put up at different locations in our community offering FREE installed smoke alarms to those who don’t have one.

Trench Rescue Training – “From the Chief’s Desk”

As part of Salmon Arm Fire Department’s ongoing rescue team training, a Trench Rescue practice was held last fall where following a theory session, members were presented with a scenario of a worker who had collapsed within a trench. The team assessed the area, utilized shoring equipment and following assessment of the patient, extricated him.
